Not every school is right for every child. We know exactly who we're building for, and we're honest about it.
There's no single profile, but there are recognisable patterns. Most families who end up at Telos Academy have at least one of these in common.
You'd rather your child thoroughly understand something than rush through a syllabus to keep up with the class.
Movement, sport, outdoor education, and physical capability matter to you, not as extras, but as essentials.
You want your child to graduate knowing how to do things, not just how to write about them.
You've chosen to live here for the climate, culture, safety, pace. You want a school that lives up to that.
You're not looking for a large institution. You want teachers who know your child, a school with genuine character.
You understand that what we're building is not finished, and you want to be part of shaping it, not just enrolling in it.
We'd rather be upfront than waste anyone's time. Telos Academy probably isn't the right fit if any of these apply.
You need a school open right now. We're in development. We're not yet enrolling.
You want a prestigious, established institution with decades of history. We're new.
You want a traditional classroom model: whole-class teaching, standard timetables, conventional assessment. That's not what we do.
You're looking for a short-term posting school with easy in-and-out. We're building a community, not a transit point.
You want a purely screen-free education. Our academic core uses adaptive technology for focused, time-limited sessions, but the majority of the school day is hands-on, physical, and away from screens.
Telos Academy is being designed as a full-journey school, from early years through to pre-university. Roughly 500 students in our current planning, though the final size will be shaped by demand from local families.
The mastery model works differently at different ages: the early years are play-rich and exploratory, the middle years are project-heavy, and the senior years combine academic depth with real-world experience. See our Ages & Stages page for a stage-by-stage breakdown.
